Aims and mission statement:
The Saudi Journal of Sports Medicine (SJSMed) aims to serve as an international forum for the dissemination of the latest research, cutting-edge advancements, and practical insights in the field of sports medicine. Our mission is to foster a comprehensive understanding of the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries and to promote physical fitness and wellness among athletes and the general population.
Scope
SJSMed covers a broad spectrum of topics related to sports medicine, including but not limited to:
Injury Prevention and Management: Strategies for preventing sports injuries; diagnosis,
treatment, and management of acute and chronic injuries; post-injury rehabilitation methods.
Exercise Physiology: Studies on the physiological effects of exercise and physical activity on
the human body, including performance optimization and the impact of exercise on chronic
diseases.
Nutrition and Sports Performance: Research on the role of nutrition in enhancing athletic
performance, dietary recommendations for athletes, and the management of eating disorders in
sports.
Sports Psychology: Psychological aspects of sports and exercise, including motivation,
performance anxiety, mental well-being of athletes, and psychological interventions.
Biomechanics and Movement Science: Analysis of sports movements, injury mechanics, and
